“LYNTON might have Shanghai’s hottest summer single in ‘Yeah Shanghai!” - That’s Shanghai

LYNTON (aka. Julian Chou-Lambert) is a mixed-race British-Chinese singer and musical artist. Growing up across cultures in Cambridge, Singapore and Shanghai, he trained from a young age in classical and jazz music, also going on to DJ and produce electronic music. He trained at Cambridge University and the Royal Academy of Music, London, and is a professional opera and jazz singer, composer and filmmaker.

LYNTON’s music is characterised by sophisticated harmonies, lyrics, and catchy melodies, drawn from his diverse musical and mixed heritage life experiences. He also creates unique music videos for his songs to tell his musical stories in more depth.

His debut single Yeah Shanghai! combines Chinese and Western jazz and electronic instruments and influences, includes bilingual English-Mandarin lyrics, and features a sample of Zhou Xuan’s iconic ‘Ye Shanghai’ song.

LYNTON directed the accompanying music video for the song, which was filmed on location in Shanghai, and won Best Asia-Pacific Music Video at the International Sound Future Awards.
